If you return your order (subject to the usual conditions), we’ll refund the standard delivery amount you originally paid.
We offer FREE delivery to mainland England, Wales and parts of southern Scotland for orders with an order value of £45 or more. The FREE delivery threshold applies to orders sent to zone 1 postcodes as listed on the shipping zones page. Delivery to Zone 2 and Zone 3 locations carries higher charges: typically £7.99 for orders under the free-threshold band and £4.99 for orders of £45 or more to those zones. The site groups postcodes into Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 so you can check which zone applies to your address. If you’re returning a faulty item we accept responsibility for the return postage and provide a pre-paid address label. Please package the item securely - a poorly packed return may be refused or refunded with deductions for damage. Only include the items listed on the returns form for the faulty item; otherwise we may reduce the refund to cover extra costs. The return must be received within 14 days of creating the returns request or the request will expire.
For unwanted items you’re responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us and must package them safely to avoid refusal or refund deductions. If the goods are unused, in their original packaging and received in time, you’ll get a full refund. If you return the entire order and you originally paid a delivery charge, the standard delivery charge will also be refunded.

You can cancel an order any time between the order confirmation email and the despatch confirmation email by letting us know as soon as possible. Email sales@diydirect.com with your name, order number and a brief explanation and we’ll try to stop despatch. If we can’t prevent despatch, you’ll need to return the order via the returns process once it arrives. Cancelled orders are refunded in full, including any delivery charge.
Our Price Match Promise means we’ll match a competitor’s price provided both the competitor and we have the identical product in stock when you request the match. The competitor’s price must be publicly available online and verifiable for at least 24 hours, and must exclude volume or membership discounts. Price matching takes into account the total order value including delivery costs, and can’t be used with other offers or vouchers. To request a match, submit links to the DIY Direct product and the competitor’s product plus the competitor’s advertised price.
If we don’t have enough stock to fulfil a paid order we may send any part we can supply and will refund the price paid for out-of-stock goods as soon as possible and in any case within 14 days. We’ll tell you if an item is withdrawn because it’s obsolete and may offer an alternative if available. If an order change drops the total below the free-delivery threshold, the applicable delivery charge will be applied to the remaining items. Multiple items on an order may arrive separately depending on availability.
Report damaged or incomplete goods to us within seven days of delivery using the Contact Form or by emailing customer.services@diydirect.com. We’ll then work to resolve the issue quickly, which may include sending replacement parts or arranging collection where appropriate. Please keep the original packaging and provide relevant order details to help the investigation - prompt notification usually means a faster fix.
We sell electronic gift vouchers in set denominations, delivered by email rather than as physical vouchers. Gift vouchers are valid for two years from purchase, cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash and are valid for a single transaction only. Only one gift voucher can be redeemed per order and any remaining balance after use is forfeited. If you return items bought with a gift voucher, any refund will be issued as a new gift voucher rather than cash.
We comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive and offer the option to return old items for recycling when you buy an equivalent new item from us.
