Giffgaff online discount codes in 2026

How do I apply Giffgaff discount codes to my online order?

What is the standard delivery charge for phones ordered from giffgaff?

Good news - giffgaff doesn’t charge for delivery to mainland UK addresses. If you order a phone before midnight, it’s dispatched for next business day delivery within mainland UK. Other places, like Northern Ireland, can take a little longer and have different transit times, but they still won’t be charged for delivery. This free-delivery rule covers both new and refurbished phones bought from the online store.

When must a phone order be placed for next business day delivery to mainland UK?

To get next business day delivery to mainland UK, place your phone order before midnight. Orders made after midnight or on a non-business day will be processed on the next business day. Mainland next-day delivery is the standard service for phone orders, though remote areas and islands may need longer. If you’re unsure about your location, check the estimated delivery time at checkout.

Are SIM cards delivered for FREE and what are the typical delivery times?

SIM cards are usually delivered FREE of charge to most destinations. Typical times are 1–2 business days for UK addresses, 3–5 business days for Europe, and 5+ business days for the rest of the world. If you don’t want the FREE SIM, there’s no need to return it - keep it or give it to someone else. SIM deliveries are separate from phone deliveries and follow their own transit expectations.

Does giffgaff provide FREE return postage for handset refunds or repairs?

Yes - giffgaff provides a FREE tracked return label for handset returns and repairs, letting you send items back via Royal Mail 24 tracked at no charge. If you want to upgrade to a higher service (for example, Special Delivery), you’ll need to cover the extra cost. You can print the FREE returns label at home or generate a QR code to show at the Post Office if you can’t print. Keep the proof of postage from the Post Office as it’s needed for any return queries.

How long does a customer have to return a new or refurbished phone for a refund if they change their mind?

giffgaff gives you 21 days to return new and refurbished phones for any reason, including change of mind. The 21-day period starts from the delivery date. Returns within this window are eligible for a refund, subject to the standard returns process and any deductions for missing items where applicable. Follow the online returns steps to book and post the handset within the timeframe.

How long will a refund take to reach the bank once giffgaff has processed it?

After giffgaff processes a refund, allow three to five business days for the money to reach your bank account. Card refunds can only go back to the debit or credit card originally used to buy the handset. giffgaff will email you when the refund has been processed. Any loan cancellations linked to handset purchases will be handled with the loan provider before refunds are finalised.

Is there a deadline by which a returned phone must be received after the return is booked?

Yes - giffgaff cannot process refunds if the returned phone arrives more than 14 days after the return was booked. Make sure you post the item promptly after booking to avoid missing this deadline. Keep the Post Office receipt as proof of postage in case there’s any dispute about posting dates. Late arrivals may mean the return is declined for refund processing.

What warranty periods apply to new handsets purchased from giffgaff?

New handsets come with a manufacturer-backed warranty, usually lasting between 12 and 24 months depending on the maker. Specific warranty lengths for the handset, battery and accessories vary by manufacturer - some brands offer 12 months, others 24 months. The warranty covers manufacturing faults but not accidental or water damage. How warranty expiry is handled after repairs or replacements is explained in giffgaff’s warranty guidance and can affect the start or end date of cover.

What warranty cover is provided for refurbished phones bought from giffgaff?

Refurbished phones come with a giffgaff warranty of 12, 18 or 24 months, depending on the device. Any claims for refurbished devices must go through giffgaff’s returns process - you can’t send them to the manufacturer or other repair centres. Refurbished phones are sent in plain boxes and usually include a USB data cable but not a mains adaptor. The warranty terms set out conditions for repairs, replacements and how warranty expiry is handled after service events.

What happens if a handset develops a fault within the first 30 days of purchase?

If your handset develops a fault within the first 30 days, giffgaff lets you return it for a refund or a replacement. Use the returns instructions in the orders section to arrange this. The 30-day policy gives a quick remedy for early faults, subject to eligibility checks and exclusions like accidental damage. If you get a replacement within 30 days, the handset’s warranty may restart from the replacement date, depending on the circumstances.

What is giffgaff’s policy for repairs after the first 30 days but still within the warranty period?

After the initial 30 days and while the device is still under warranty, giffgaff will repair covered faults FREE of charge. Book a repair through the returns process in your orders and follow the guidance on preparing the handset for return. Water damage and other physical damage, such as cracked screens, aren’t covered and may be excluded from FREE repair. How warranty expiry is handled for repaired devices depends on whether the repair is within or after the 30-day threshold and is explained in the warranty documentation.

What must be retained as proof when posting a handset back to giffgaff for refund or repair?

You must keep the Post Office receipt showing the scanned barcode as your Proof of Postage when returning a handset. giffgaff needs this to verify postage with Royal Mail if any queries come up. If you can’t print a receipt, you can use the QR code from the return email at the Post Office, or write the address and GG-23 reference on the parcel and get a receipt. Without an authenticatable Proof of Postage, giffgaff may not be able to process the return or refund.

Can a member upgrade the FREE return postage service and who pays for the upgrade cost?

You can upgrade the FREE Royal Mail 24 tracked return to Special Delivery or another higher service, but you must pay the difference. giffgaff won’t cover any extra costs for upgrades and won’t reimburse those charges as part of the standard returns process. The FREE returns label stays Royal Mail 24 tracked unless you choose to change it and pay the upgrade cost.

Are missing accessories deducted from a handset refund and how is that handled?

If items originally included with the handset - like earphones, cables or chargers - are missing from your return, giffgaff will charge for those missing accessories and deduct the cost from your refund. The deduction reflects the value of the missing items, so include everything to avoid reductions. Details about possible deductions are in the returns guidance and will be communicated if they affect your refund.

To which card will a handset refund be issued when a purchase was made by card?

Card refunds are issued only to the same debit or credit card used to buy the handset. giffgaff won’t send the refund to a different card or bank account for card purchases. Any loan cancellations related to a handset purchase will be handled with the loan provider before the refund is completed. You’ll get an email when the refund is processed - allow three to five business days for the funds to appear.

Does giffgaff publish any specific student SIM pricing that includes exact costs?

The site lists a student SIM offer where students could get 40 GB for £10 per month on a monthly rolling plan during the promotional period. Activation required a student.ac.uk email address and the deal ran for a defined promotional timeframe. This student pricing was a time-limited, eligibility-based offer rather than a permanent tariff. If you’re interested, check current student eligibility and promotional terms before ordering.
