That covers deliveries on standard weekday slots between 7am and 7pm and includes delivery plus installation so your item arrives ready to use. If you order several items, you’ll only be charged the highest applicable delivery fee - not a separate fee for each piece.
Saturday delivery for sofas and furniture is a higher fixed rate of £129.00. It’s a premium option and only available where Saturday slots exist in your area. If you choose Saturday delivery, that fee replaces the standard weekday charge, and you’ll be told about any Saturday charge before your order is confirmed.
There’s a specific delivery price of £9.99 for rugs and for certain furniture items that qualify for delivery within seven days. These lower charges only apply to the named product categories and when the item is offered as a selected, quick‑delivery product. Delivery costs can vary for remote locations, and any charge will be confirmed to you before you complete your order.
If a delivery is missed and ScS has to return products to the warehouse and re‑deliver, a re‑delivery charge applies. The published re‑delivery fee for sofas, furniture and tables/sideboards is £129.00. This covers returning the goods to distribution and arranging another delivery attempt. ScS delivers to mainland Great Britain and the Isle of Wight, but it doesn’t offer direct delivery to offshore UK islands such as the Channel Islands, Guernsey and Jersey. Northern Ireland is excluded from direct delivery. For offshore island addresses ScS can arrange handover to a carrier who will complete the journey, which may incur extra charges agreed at the point of purchase. If you’re returning items from offshore islands, returns would be your responsibility and at your own cost to the mainland.
If you’ve paid in full by card in a store, you may be able to collect your order from the distribution centre rather than arranging home delivery. This option depends on the product and how it was ordered, so check with the store for collection availability. You’ll be told the collection procedure when payment and order details are finalised.
ScS publishes a 10‑year frame guarantee covering manufacturing defects in the structural frame of sofas and chairs. Other components - upholstered interiors (foam, fibre and feather filling), covering materials (fabric and leather), springs, mechanisms and electrical parts - are covered for 12 months. There are exclusions, such as wilful damage, commercial use and failure to follow care instructions; full details of what the frame guarantee does and doesn’t cover are in the terms and conditions.
ScS offers two care packages for sofas: Premium and Ultimate, each providing five years’ cover. The Premium Care Package covers accidental stains, damage and pet damage, while the Ultimate package also covers structural defects and mechanical and electrical components. Both packages start from delivery, are paid as a one‑off with no annual renewal or excess, and include a care kit supplied at delivery to help with stain removal and maintenance.
ScS replaced the Sofa Guard policy with the Premium and Ultimate Care Packages on 25 July 2024. The new packages give five years of cover and broader protection as described on the site. ScS states a price guarantee that ensures the same prices are shown in each of its stores and online. This is about consistent ScS pricing across channels rather than a price‑match with other retailers. The policy means you should pay the same listed price whether you buy in store or online, and it’s explained as part of the “Why ScS?” customer commitments.
Most online or phone orders are made to your specification and, as bespoke items, the contract is not cancellable. That said, ScS allows you to amend an upholstery order within two days of order confirmation without giving a reason. If you ordered stock products in store, speak to the store about cancellation rights for those purchases. Check the full terms and conditions for more detail.
Under ScS retail terms, where the company agrees to a cancellation it may deduct up to 25% of the contract price (purchase price plus delivery charges) from the refund. That deduction is compensation for reasonable losses and costs caused by the cancellation but will never exceed 25% of the contract price. If you haven’t paid enough to cover that 25% at the time of cancellation, ScS may ask you to pay the shortfall. This condition doesn’t affect legal rights for products that don’t conform to the contract.
Most products are made to order so lead times vary, and ScS provides an estimated delivery date at order. Once your order is ready in the distribution centre the company aims to deliver within two working days and will contact you to agree a convenient delivery date and time. Delivery crews operate two‑person teams and will call about one hour before arrival during the 7am–7pm window. Delivery dates can usually only be moved by a day or two because of limited distribution centre storage, and any outstanding balance must be paid before delivery.
Check all product dimensions on the product page before you buy so you’re confident the item will fit through doors, hallways and stairways. Provide details of any access issues when ordering so delivery crews can be prepared. If furniture doesn’t fit because of unforeseen access problems, contact the pre‑delivery team via the customer contact form - this guidance is mostly preventative to avoid day‑of delivery complications.
Finance is available online and in store with minimums and representative arrangements. Finance is offered on orders over £350 and online options include interest‑free credit up to three years, with different deposit and term conditions depending on the order value. For example, online finance is available with a £100 deposit for spends from £350.01 to £999, with other deposit/term requirements for higher spends. All finance is subject to status and eligibility checks.
If you order multiple items they may be delivered separately, but you’ll only be charged once for delivery. The highest delivery fee for the items ordered will apply rather than adding up individual charges. For example, if you order a sofa and a rug together, the higher sofa delivery fee will be charged. The total delivery fee will be confirmed before order confirmation so you know exactly what you’ll pay.
ScS provides an initial 12‑month parts and labour guarantee for orders, subject to normal wear and tear, alongside a 10‑year frame guarantee for structural frame defects. If problems arise with parts or electrical components after the first 12 months, a warranty call‑out fee will apply as set out in the terms and conditions. You can report product issues using the contact form and aftercare support is available by phone during published hours. Repairs or technician visits for covered faults are arranged once parts arrive and ScS will contact you to book a visit.
